Application for CCI Fundamentals Intensive 2017

Access to the worldwide CCI community is based on graduates of the Fundamentals Workshop meeting the following criteria.  These are the core learning goals for this workshop.  They are also behavioral guidelines that participants in CCI activities are expected to follow.

Do you want to learn how to meet these standards and agree to follow these guidelines in connection with your participation in CCI activities?

1. Understand that the self-counselor (explorer, focus-person) is always in charge of his or her own work.
2. Be able and willing to maintain caring aware attention when in the co-counselor (helper, compassionate witness)  role and in groups;
3. Understand  confidentiality and make every effort to maintain  it;
4. Be able and willing to maintain balance of attention when in the Self-counselor (client)   role;
5. Be able and willing to get present for self and others after self-counselor (client) time;
6. Be able and willing to keep, or intentionally re-negotiate,  co-counseling  contracts
7. Understand  the distinctions between  co-counseling discharge and coping strategies (such as sleeping, reading, music, meditation), and unaware or unintentional outbursts of emotion;
8. Understand the concept of the "Pattern  Self'' and the "Me" self and understand that all patterns have ''payoffs"and "costs", and that we are not our patterns.
9. Demonstrate clarity about the distinctions between co-counseling interventions and social or conversational responses;
10. Cause no harm  to self, others, or the physical  environment when  in any co-counseling   setting;
11. Use no alcohol or illegal drugs during or prior to any co-counseling activity;
12. Maintain  a culture of validation; respect the sharing done in pairs, groups, and  circles; and avoid put-downs of self and others;
13. Have a basic understanding  of restimulation and patterned responses; and

14. Be capable of continuing to use the co-counseling   process.

Utilizing these expectations a Co-Counseling Fundamentals teacher may recommend a student to co-counseling gatherings, workshops or further skills classes.

Students who wish to participate  in co-counseling  gatherings,  but do not meet these expectations, may be requested to repeat Fundamentals or participate first in some other growth process  such as a 12-step group, therapy, etc.
